Bridger Brew Crew will host a Malt Workshop for homebrewers, professional brewers, and anyone interested in learning more about malt on Saturday, June 15th. This event will take place from 2-6PM at Gallatin Valley Malt Co. headquarters (on their farm in Churchill) just outside Manhattan, MT.
During the workshop, we'll have the opportunity to see barley growing in the field and observe a working malt system in action. Karl DeJonge, GVMC owner/founder, will be on hand to talk to us about each stage of the malting process. This will be followed by malt hot steep demonstration and talk on malt quality and its importance to beer brewing by Hannah Turner, Lab Director for MSU's Malt Quality Lab. Afterward, members are welcome to stay to enjoy homebrews and a cookout at the farm.
This event is open and free to all dues-paying club members. Non-members are also welcome to attend for a one-time $10 fee. More info on how to join Bridger Brew Crew can be found at www.bridgerbrewcrew.org/membership/.
Directions to the farm will be sent out closer time to the event.
Any questions, please email the club at info@bridgerbrewcrew.org.
